ANDRII KOSHMAN

ANDRII KOSHMAN (BARITONE) was born in Ukraine in 1989. From 2006-2012, he studied at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and received a Masters in Physics. Andrii studied opera singing at the National Music Academy of Ukraine from 2009-2015. He specializes in the interpretation of contemporary music, as well as classical opera baritone roles such as Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini), Eugene Onegin, Iolanta (Tchaikovsky), La Cambiale di Matrimonio (Rossini), Aleko (Rachmaninoff), The Telephone (Menotti), La Boheme (Puccini) and Ukrainian operas Natalka-Poltavka (Lysenko), Cossacks in Exile (Hulak-Artemovsky). Andrii has been a soloist in all productions of Nova Opera since 2014: improvisational opera Coriolanus, opera-requiem IYOV, overnight opera The UnSimple, and opera-circus BABYLON, opera-ballet ARK, horror-opera Hamlet, funk-opera AIR, futuristic opera AEROPHONIA.

Andrii has performed in European and American halls such as Musikverein (Vienna Philharmonic), Macedonian opera and ballet, Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre, National Philharmonic of Ukraine, Lviv National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Belarusian State Philharmonic, Big Opera Hall of The Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin, National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, La MaMa and Here Theatre in New York at PROTOTYPE Opera Festival, Rotterdamse Schouwburg and New Luxor Theatre at Operadagen Rotterdam Festival.

Since 2015, Andrii is a concert director of Nova Opera. Since 2016, he has been the program director of International Contemporary Art Festivals GogolFest (Kyiv) and Porto Franko (Ivano-Frankivsk). In 2019 Andrii took part at the premieres of grand-opera NERO and opera-dystopia GAZ.  In 2020 he took part at Zoom-opera Whan Is Zarathustra Silent On, Archeological opera Chornobyldorf, in 2021 – re:post-opera LE and Der letzte Schnee, in 2022 – gra[n]d-opera The Art of War and EROS. Since 2021 Andrii is a voice teacher at the National Music Academy of Ukraine.
